Weekend Top 5

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

If you want to link up and share your Top 5- go sign the Mr. Linky at Kristi's of The Wheelz Are Rolling .

5. The start of our weekend was Friday evening. After dinner we all went outside to enjoy the beautiful evening weather. Ken and Gavin practiced throwing the baseball to one another. Katelyn rode her bike around for a while before she decided to get in on the baseball fun. She took one of Gavin's spare gloves and had fun catching the ball when it was tossed her way.

4. Saturday morning was Gavin's first Tball game of the season. The game was at 830 am and Gavin was up bright and early at 630 asking if it was time to go yet. He was so excited to be playing again. On the way to the field Gavin said that when it was time to bat he hoped to be first.

Once we got to the field he walked right up to the coach and said "Hi coach. What's the batting order?" My my, doesn't he sound professional?? Gavin was 2nd in the lineup and that was ok with him.

For the first inning Gavin played 2nd base. When his team was up to bat he hit a fly ball almost all the way to the fence. So awesome!

For the 2nd inning Gavin got to play the pitcher position. Since it is only Tball he is not pitching the ball but stands where the pitcher is. I could tell he was so proud to be in this position. He did such a great job and caught 3 balls that came his way and immediately turned at threw them to first base to get the runner out. I was so proud of him! Of course I think he is on his way to a career in baseball- but that's just my opinion!

3. Saturday evening we headed up to Lowes to get our Christmas tree. Gavin remembered last year how we tied our tree to the roof of the car and was excited we would do it again this year. Such little things that make him happy. Katelyn was amazed at all of the Christmas trees and kept running around like crazy touching them all. Gavin was the true big brother and kept showing her around to all the trees. I love this age for the both of them. I love that Gavin has memories of previous Christmas' and is excited for what is to come. I love seeing the wonder on Katelyn's face as she is seeing so much of this season for the first time she can remember.

2. After we got home and set up our tree in the house we headed up to the park for the annual Holiday Stroll. The park is decorated with thousands upon thousands of Christmas lights and displays. They also have crafts for the kids, food booths, Santa, and for the first time this year an ice skating rink! Unfortunately, we didn't ice skate even though Gavin wanted to. We were all wearing flip flops and didn't have socks on.

We had a great time anyways seeing all of the light and listening to the Christmas music. Again Katelyn could not get enough of the lights. She thought they were so amazing.

1. Sunday mid morning we went to my inlaws for Sunday lunch. After lunch we headed home to get out the Christmas decorations and ornaments. Decorating the tree went better than I expected with a 2-year-old. She was excited to be hanging the ornaments and did a really cute job of it. Gavin was excited to see and remember all of his ornaments and made sure he showed them all to Katelyn. Both of them did a really cute job and of course all of the ornaments are all clumped together in one spot at the bottom of the tree.

Have a wonderful week everyone!

Looks like a great weekend. I love the picture of Gavin's arm around his sister...so sweet.

It is always fun to look at your pictures of green grass when it hasn't stopped snowing here for about a week.

Can I just tell you how much I love watching Lani and Katelyn grow up "together"!! Lani did the same things on our tree. All hers were in one spot on the bottom...LOL:) She wasn't too excited about buying the tree since it was like 20 degrees and she kept saying "It's fweezing" HA!!

I love that Gavin is so excited about baseball. He definitely has a future if he is already so excited to be out there:)

I don't know why, but your post brought tears to my eyes. It was just so sweet!

Gavin is so talented! That's awesome that he loves it so much!

I guess I didn't realize how close our kids are in age... just the genders are reversed!

We bought our tree yesterday, but will probably decorate it tonight. Here's hoping Cullen doesn't want to "help"!
