Good-Bye Preschool...Its Been Fun

Katelyn "graduated" from Pre-School on Monday June 6th. Her school did an evening ceremony where all of the graduates came out on their red cap and gowns. The 3 Pre-K classes all joined together on stage to sing the graduation song they had been practicing for weeks.

This is what Katelyn sang:
I learned my numbers 1, 2 , 3 ( 1, 2 ,3 )
I learned my letters A,B,C (A,B, C)
I can even write my name with ease
Aren't you very proud of me ( proud of me)
Kindergarten Here We Come (here we come)
Kindergarten Here We Come (here we come)
So long pre-school, its been fun
Kindergarten here we come!

It was just the cutest little song with hand motions and foot stomping!

After the song, the classes were called up one by one to be presented their diplomas by their teacher.

Katelyn passed the time by:

Chatting with Jason

Playing with the balloons

And when her name was called she got to go get her diploma from her teacher:
But, after that, it was back to fooling around.

Using her diploma to sword fight with Jason:

Or use her diploma as a musical instrument:

Or as she is walking off stage, using the diploma as some kind of laser gun to zap the kids in the crowd:

Katelyn was so excited that night to be up on stage dancing and singing. I think the best part for her was wearing the cap and gown! She loved it!

And now, like she sang in the song....Kindergarten here we come!!

Happy 9th Birthday Gavin

I might say it every year...but...I cannot believe how old my baby is. 9!! So, in honor of that wonderful number...here are 9 things about Gavin.

1) Gavin wants to be a veterinarian when he grows up. He absolutely loves animals. All animals. When we caught a crab on the beach recently I joked we were taking him home for dinner. The look on Gavin's face was heartbreaking and he insisted we throw him back in the ocean.

2) No big surprise to anyone here, but Gavin loves to play the XBox. His favorite things to play are LeftForDead, Call Of Duty, any sports game and Dance Central. I'll have to get a video of him dancing!

3) His favorite shows are Dragon Ball Z, Beyblade, Spongebob, and Fairly Oddparents.

4) He is NOT a patient person. At all. He hates waiting and becomes QUITE irritable.

5) Gavin has an outstanding imagination. He can play for hours all by himself with some of his toys. He loves action figures (spiderman, star wars, green lantern) and creates some pretty scary battles between them. Sound effects and everything.

6) He is NOT a picky eater. He will eat anything and everything. Sushi, spicy things, crab legs, asparagus, and even calamari. I just have to say- Hey Gavin try this...and he will. I love that about him!

7) This past season Gavin took ice skating lessons for 8 weeks. This September he wants to start hockey lessons.

8) Gavin is a little obsessed with zombies. He watches The Walking Dead with me. He loves to find all sorts of zombie moves on Netflix too.

9) Even though he is growing up, every so often he will still sit and snuggle with me. Its usually late at night when hes tired, but hey, I'll take it!

Happy 9th Birthday Gavin!! I love you, Mommy

VBS ~ Day 2

Today is the second day of vacation bible school for Gavin and Katelyn. This years theme is PandaMania.
Both kids had a great time yesterday and were full of stories when I picked them up. The craft they made was name tag necklaces to wear all week. Of course with a big Panda in the middle.
Both Gavin and Katelyn said their favorite activity yesterday was game time- and it involved some sort of water gun fight.
Today is crazy hair day. Gavin asked for his to be spiked- and since he needs a hair cut- it does look kind of crazy.
Katelyn asked for her hair to be done in lots of pony tails. So I gave her 5 pony tails and she picked out different colored bands to put on the top of each one.

I am so glad they are having fun at VBS!

And note the cute T-shirts too!
