Hibernation

This is Katelyn's second year of pre-school. She goes 3 half days a week.

I love picking her up from school and talking about her day. She tells me what they had for snack, who she played with on the play ground, and if anyone wasn't in school that day. She also lets me know who she sat by for circle time, if she played with the dolls, or if she got to paint that day.

I also love to hear about everything that she learns. A couple of weeks ago it was Martin Luther King Jr. She just called him "Martin" which sounded so cute.

Today she got in the car to tell me she learned about hibernation. This was our conversation:

Katelyn: I think I have to do a hibernate when I get home mommy.
Me: What? Hibernate? Who told you that?
Katelyn: My teacher told me. Animals and all the girls and boys do hibernate in the winter.
Me: What does hibernate mean?
Katelyn: It means go to sleep for a long time. Bears do hibernate in the ground, but I can do hibernate in my bed cause the ground is yucky. I don't want to get yucky.

So of course I'm thinking GREAT- she's going to take a nap when we get home- yipee! But as fast as our conversation went about hibernation- it quickly changed to her singing Frosty the Snowman and telling me she wants to watch Cat in the Hat when she gets home. So much for her hibernation!
