Time to Move On

After talking about it for about a year now, we have finally put our house up for sale. I have a big Ole FOR SALE sign in my front yard. This weekend we are having our first open house. Strange people walking around my house all day while I am not here. A little weird.

So I have alot of mixed feeling about this move. We are moving about an hour south from where we are now. So we would be leaving all of our family and friends. We rely on our families so much and its scary to think that they wont be right around the corner anymore. And I hate having to switch Gavin's school. I hate that he will have to leave all his friends.

I've lived in this same town for 23 years. I could find anyplace around here with my eyes closed. Moving will mean unknown surroundings. Feeling like I'm lost. Probably getting lost for real.

On the plus side, we are moving closer to where Ken works. Instead of him driving over an hour to get to work he would be driving about 10 minutes. BIG difference. He would be home more which is the biggest plus there is. And when he has to go into work on his days off he wouldn't be gone for more than half the day. So I guess for all of the reasons I DoNT want to move, my hubby being home more with me and the kids overshadows all of my fears.

Oh, and a new house. I am really looking forward to a new house!

So cross your fingers and wish us luck on selling the house. I am hoping it sells before the school year starts again so I don't have to switch Gavin in the middle of the year!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

I completely understand. I'd be more than a little nervous, for all the reasons you listed.

I hope your house sells quickly. Although I HATE moving, and moving in the summer is the WORST! But it's much better than being the new kid two months into a school year.

Keep us posted.

23 years? Wow. I've never lived anywhere that long. I've lived in this area for that long, but back and forth between two towns thirty minutes apart.

Oh I am so happy for you! And to have had an open house already!

Our house has been on the market over one year and no one has even looked at it because they want to live closer to town and we live in the middle of nowhere.

It is a tough decision to move, but it is best for our family. I hope the transition goes well for all of you!

Moving is a huge decision to make. We talk about it from time to time, but for now we're in a good spot. Maybe one day. I wish you luck and a quick sale!
