Hurricane Fay

As of right now, Hurricane Fay is expected to be by our area Tuesday ( tomorrow ) afternoon. No reports have been issued yet, but I am pretty sure Gavin's first day of school tomorrow will be cancelled.

This is the first hurricane of the season that impacts us in any way. So, I will spend today getting ready for the storm. I plan on packing our suitcases so if we have to evacuate we are ready to go tomorrow instead of running around in a panic ( which I would do ). Right now the storm is only expected to be a Category 1 when it passes by us. Which gives us about 75 mile per hour winds.

Anything more that a Category 1 I would seriously consider leaving. We are only 4 miles from the beach so of course flooding and high winds kinda scare me!

I guess we will just play it by ear and see what the storm does throughout today. Tonight is also Gavin's meet and greet with his teacher. I am hoping they don't cancel that.

Have a wonderful week everyone!

I feel for you!

We've had two hurricanes this past month; fortunately, they both were downgraded to a tropical storm (I think!) as they made landfall.

I think it's going to be a busy season!

I'll be praying for you guys.

BTW, maybe you should go ahead and evacuate. My word verification is:

rnbun (runbun, as in, run those buns?)

:)

At least Im not going through this alone! Ive got you and Justine too! We are roughly 5 miles from the Gulf and the already did a voluntary evacuation of homes west and south of I-40. We are north and east of it, so for now we are staying put. I did go to Walmart and get more water, bread, etc. BUT I freaking forgot batteries for my flashlight!!!

I hope you all come out okay. It is so weird to live up here in the midwest and hear about hurricanes, and have NO idea what it's actually like.

This will be my first experience with a hurricane since we moved here. I am so nervous about it! You will be in my prayers!
