20/20? Not So Much.

About 3 months ago Gavin brought home a form from the school nurse stating that he had not passed the school eye exam. So I did what any other good mom would do. I ignored the letter. Well, not totally. I did call our insurance company to see where I could take him to get his eyes tested. And I sat on hold for a very long time. So I hung up. And never called back!

Then 2 weeks ago the school nurse sent home another letter reminding me about his eyes. So this time I made an appointment for the eye doctor. Gavin failed the eye exam with flying colors. I have very bad eyes and wear contacts. So I guess Gavin got that from me. We picked out glasses 2 weeks ago and will be picking them up today.

I did explain to Gavin that he had to wear the glasses all the time. He seemed ok with it. In fact he has been asking me nonstop for the past 2 weeks when his glasses were getting here. So we will see what happens when we actually get them.

This is so funny... I did the EXACT SAME THING!!! Well, except for the fact that I didn't even call the insurance company!

I took Christian to the doctor a two weeks ago when she was really sick, so I had them check her eyes while she was there. If I hadn't thought about it, while I was sitting there waiting for the doctor, the nurse would still be waiting for a report!

He will wear them for a bit and then it will get old, he will then hide them, forget them everywhere he goes, step on them try to throw them out the car window, throw them off the back of a golf cart, only to get run over by the golf cart following behind you, he will chew the eye pads off, he will bend them to unrecognizable shapes, he will leave them on the floor and you'll step on them........or maybe that is just my kid!! (Don't worry too much, at least Gavin is older, E was 1 when he got his!)

Hope he likes them, I would love to see a picture.n Boys in glasses are so cute!
